Can you teach yourself laser tattoo and PMU removal?
Thinking about laser tattoo removal training? What learning alone by trial and error costs (burns, scars, lost clients) and how to choose a qualified mentor.

This brings us to the answer to the main question: is there a chance to learn to remove PMU safely with a laser on your own, without anyone's help?
There is a chance, but it is a very hard road — you will not avoid adverse outcomes. You can only learn from mistakes, leaving clients with complications and injuries on top of the laser removal procedure.
If you decide to work in laser removal on your own without any preparation, you will almost certainly face a number of problems:

Causing complications for the client
- The most painful pain. If you start working with a laser without training and without understanding the essence of the procedure, you will run into various reactions. They can be merely unpleasant (colour inversion, swelling, redness) or noticeably traumatic (wounds, burns, blisters, bleeding, scars). Without knowledge of laser removal you will work intuitively for a long time, without understanding the causes of what you see. The result: nerves, stress, unhappy clients.

Blaming the equipment
- A laser is exactly as smart as the specialist operating it. There are no more or less dangerous models of equipment — whether injuries happen depends only on your skill and your removal method! Do not believe sellers who try to convince you to buy their magic laser that removes tattoos without burns. The result depends 100% on your skills.

Lack of confidence
-
Without expertise in laser removal you will not be able to consult your clients in a way that makes them trust you. You will get flustered, answer questions vaguely or even say "I don't know"...
-
Clients can sense when you are not being fully open with them, and this will hurt your reputation.
So how do you avoid these problems?
First of all, you need systematic knowledge of the procedure and the ability to apply it. You must be as competent as possible in laser tattoo and PMU removal with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.
In addition, you need confidence in your equipment, in the method of performing the procedure and in your own knowledge — and, no less important, an understanding of how to monetise the laser removal skill properly and attract clients.
Only then will you be able to remove PMU and tattoos safely and effectively! Instead of reproaches, you will hear words of gratitude and admiration from your clients.
To finish, I would like to give you a few pieces of advice from me personally:

- Do not rely on “maybe it'll work out”, especially in laser removal. Remember that you are working with living people and using a hazard class 4 laser! Responsibility for the patient's health is entirely in your hands.

- Do not seek advice from the first “expert” you come across, especially in chats and on forums. Treat all information from the internet critically and check it carefully.

- Find a qualified mentor. Spend your time looking for the best teacher and make sure they are competent, study the market of online courses on laser removal, read reviews and find out all the details of the training before you pay for it!

Why should a PMU artist learn laser removal?
